Wallpapered Rooms

I have a love-hate relationship with wallpaper.
Love:
A unique look that not everyone has.
It creates a cozy atmosphere.
Hate:
I get tired of things easily.
I have never been successful putting it up.

So...if I were to ever try my hand at it again, this is my go-to inspiration...

Stone wall inspiration

Nothing screams English cottages more than stone walls. I included some photos of some English cottages from Pinterest that motivate me to redo my own kitchen.

Kitchen and dining inspiration

When I was younger, I would stare at decorating magazines and study them.  My mother had a knack for decorating.  About twice a month she would have me help her move the furniture around and I remember loving the feeling each time. To this day, I'm still inspired by beautiful photos. Here are some from my Pinterest account. Yes, I'm on Pinterest, Lemon8, Tumblr and Instagram. All under the name Lambertcottage.
Enjoy these beautiful photos "on the house" πŸ˜‰

Cottage garden scroll stoppers

I don't even have one tree in my backyard. Partly, because I can't seem to keep any plant alive and partly because of cost. However, as the saying goes, "how do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time."
So...I need to work at this slowly. Baby steps. In the meantime, I wanted to share these with you....

First blooms of the season

Just so you know, I can't grow anything, but I xan keep this one rose bush alive! 3 years now. Aren't they beautiful?! Notice the random pink on very few of the buds. Wondering if this rose bush is a hybrid. If you know much about roses, let me know in the comments below. 🌸🌿🀍

Scroll stopping sinks

A good farmhouse kitchen sink will be on the budget in the near future. They reminds me of granny's house in her old farmhouse.

Repurpose your items you already have

I almost threw away this little copper wire basket. I bought it on a whim when thrifting a few years ago and never used it. An egg basket? I don't have fresh eggs I can leave out. So, there it sat until I cleaned out my decor that I wasn't using. This takes me to this week. I needed a place for my tea towels so I can grab and go to keep me from using so many paper towels. It holds them perfectly. Now, today I was hand washing some dishes that cannot go in the dishwasher. You know, the old ironstone dishes you can't replace? So here I go back down my rabbit hole looking for a drying rack. Great. The soonest I can get one from Amazon will be a week from now.
I look over and see this basket that happened to be the perfect size for these. Now, the same basket I almost got rid of...I need TWO of them πŸ€ͺ
Now, I know you want one too 🀣
Since this is an antique, I found one pretty close to this one on Amazon.

A needle book

I had so many sewing needles I would find in random spaces. Sticking in pieces of paper and fabric. I needed a place for them. A safe place. So, this needle book was created by me. No pattern...I created this as I stitched along.

Sunday scroll stoppers

I love being inspired by photos on the internet.  I found these on Instagram and wanted to share them with you. This days theme is decorating with white flowers.
1. @willandbea
I love the white painted wood with the simplicity of the baskets and florals. This reminds me of slow living which is something I've been craving lately.
2.  @harnhamhouse
The wallpaper and the headboard is absolutely beautiful.  The same muted tones make them match perfectly.
3.  @oldwhyteinteriors
I have a love for ironstone and these tureen collection is absolutely beautiful how they displayed them.
4.  @jasminabylund
Peaches and sage muted tones.  Love these two colors paired together. Makes for a soft pallet and can we talk about that wicker sofa? 😍
5.  @lemondeagreable
Plaster and stone paired beautifully together. Reminds me of a very old cottage in Ireland.
6. @burlaprosesrevivals
I love the patina in these cabinets.  I love how they mixed and matched the pieces.  It all ties together.  Loving the antiques that are perfectly in place.
7.  @cowparsley_and_foxgloves
Thatched roof and a beautiful white flowered tree reminds me of a hobbit house. A beautiful space to sit and read a book and I just love the little basket hanging in the tree.
8.  @annakubel
The color swatches on the table, the wide open window and flowing curtains is so beautiful to me.
9.  @joeykendalbrown
I don't know what it is about a small kitchen that I love but isn't this one darling? The shiplap wall, the large picture window and that farmhouse sink. So charming!
10.  @tallwoodcountryhouse
White flower heaven! The baskets and creamy whites.  Beautiful!
