Free Fall Decor

One of my most favorite things to do is to challenge myself on decorating without spending a dime. Whether its shopping my home or finding nature outside to decorate with, I love to challenge myself to make something I love even more than what I can buy in a store. 

So, off I went, pickin wildflowers. 

The large sheep painting is something I have been wanting to do for a while and I finally had the chance yesterday. I love it on this old wooden door. 

This cabinet is pretty tall so I knew I needed to raise this door up to be able to really see the sheep. I used a Longaberger basket tray turned upside down as a riser to lift it to just the right height. 

Next, I separated the drued out grasses from the wildflowers. I put the flowers in the gathering basket and the drued grasses in a vase to achieve this look. 

You don't necessarily need pumpkins, garlands and things like that to get a warm and cozy Fall look. Let nature show you what Autumn is all about. 🍂

Fall Breakfast room on a budget

Hi friends! It is almost September and no better time than to give you more Fall inspo on a budget one room at a time. 

First, let me show you this adorable pumpkin I made last year from an old Henley tee, a target dollar spot pumpkin and a twig from outside. The ribbons I had laying around. All I did was wrap the cut up tee around the pumpkin, hot glue in the stem and tie it on top with ribbons. 

I folded down the top of the shirt after tying just to add a leaf effect. The next several photos are step by step showing the process...

Next is the breakfast room. 

I have an old Pyrex amber color bottle. I have never really used it until I styled it today. It has a very narrow opening so I never really thought of it as a vase. I have these twigs I bought at Hobby Lobby last year so I decided to cut them up since the stems were narrow and shove as many as I could into this narrow opening. I love the look. 

I added some acorns and these you can find around your neighborhood or a nearby park. Collect them on your walk because there are so many cute things you can do with them! Add them to a bowl, etc. My Fall living room ideas on a buget  post shows them coming out of a scoop I had. 

As I was taking photos, one of the candles I had burned down all the way. I thought hmmmm this would be the perfect opportunity to show another cute way to decorate a tablescape. 

Do you see anything different? 

I added some silverware. I bought these on Amazon 2 years ago and have loved them! The straw pumpkins came from Hobby Lobby and the wicker tray from a friend who was throwing it away 😱 

The stained glass window I have had for 30 years and the window door hanging in the patio door (see pictures above) came from Kirklands last year. So, as you can see, shop your home. I haven't bought a single thing for Fall this year in this room. Look around your home and your Fall bins in storage. Maybe you want a different look this year. You can always transform what you have with chalk paint or cover it up with an old tee-shirt in your new fall colors. Thrift stores have them for a dollar or 2 and they are so much cheaper then buying fabric at the store. Repurpose!

Fall Living room ideas on a BUDGET

Hi there friends! I decided to start decorating for Fall early this year in hopes of giving you some inspiration. Fall is my most favorite time of year so I won't tire of it easily. Besides, if you know me, I'm changing my decor around on a daily basis almost. 

On Instagram, I put a poll up to help me decide which room to decorate for Fall first. 75% voted for the living room so here it is. Never fear, the breakfast nook will be next week! 

In the photo above, I took wheat, dried grasses, things you find in nature and tied them together to hang upside down for added cozy texture. Decorating doesn't have to be expensive. Actually, my most favorite decor comes from nature. 

Last year, I found this old rusty Folgers coffee can at a thrift antique booth. I believe it was 2 dollars. I love using rusted old tins for vases. The wheat inside, I picked up at our local farmers market for a few dollars. I love to support our farmers whenever I can. 

One thing to really cozy up a room is to use textured pillows. Shop your home. Maybe you have that one pillow in another room that you never thought about being on your sofa before. 

Acorns. Take a walk outside in your neighborhood or in a park. You are for sure to find these gems all around! 

I bought this old scoop a month ago for $5. Scoops are fun to put pinecones in also for this fall and winter. Look outside for some fallen branches. Those are super cute in a container.
